Local Area Connection
Our homes at Amington Green have been specifically built to meet the needs of local people and priority will be given to applicants who have a connection to Tamworth District Council.
The local area connection can vary between our developments but generally, it is based on you having been a resident (or employed within) the area for a number of years (usually between 2-5) or have family connections – for example, parent, grandparent, child, grandchild or adult sibling – who have lived in the area for at least three years.
Staircasing to own 100% of your home at Amington Green
Our homes at Amington Green are available to purchase from 25% to 75% shared ownership. Once your home is purchased you will have the option to increase the amount of your shared ownership home that you own. This is called Staircasing.
The greater the share you buy in your home the less rent you will pay to your home. Ultimately staircasing to buy 100% of your home, means you become an outright owner, and you will no longer need to pay rent.
If you want to know what your next steps are, learn more about Shared Ownership.
