Overview of responsibilities

Hi, I’m Jade, and I’m a cleaner in Bromford’s Empty Homes Team. My job is all about making homes sparkle and feel fresh for new customers. Some days, I’m working alongside the engineers, helping to keep things tidy while they carry out repairs and other times, I’m putting the finishing touches on a property with a final clean. It’s a great feeling knowing that I’m helping create a positive first impression for someone moving into their new home.

What I love most is that every property is different. Some properties need a bit more care and attention than others, but it’s always satisfying to see the transformation once everything is finished and ready for someone to settle in.

How has your career progressed?

I started at Bromford in September 2023 as a full-time cleaner, but after my daughter was born, I asked if I could switch to part-time hours so I could spend more time with her. The team was so understanding and made the change really easy for me. Now, I work three days a week, which gives me the balance I need between family life and work.

What do you enjoy most about working at Bromford?

The thing that really stands out for me is the flexibility. I’ve been able to adjust my schedule to fit around my family, which makes a big difference when you’ve got a little one. The team is always understanding and its great to feel that support at work.

Besides that, it’s lovely having my own van, it’s one of those perks that just makes life easier. I also appreciate the coffee card, it definitely comes in handy!

But above all, I take pride in knowing that my work has a real impact and knowing that I’m helping turn houses into homes.
