Transformation Business Change & Readiness Manager

Overview of responsibilities

I'm responsible for leading a team that helps the business prepare for upcoming changes and, most importantly, embrace new ways of working

The team ultimately have the relationship with their stakeholders, but I am responsible for our overarching plan and strategy. I’m also responsible for providing a view to our senior leaders on how the change is going from the people point of view.

At Bromford, we’re all about our people and ultimately my role is to give people a voice and ensure that they have a part to play in the changes.

How has your career progressed?

I’ve been at Bromford now for just over 7 years. I started my career here as a Customer Service Advisor, then moved to being a Neighbourhood Coach and then to a Locality Manager. The jump into the technology space happened when we moved to a new system and I worked as the change representative for the team. I loved being able to support colleagues through a change and get people on board and never went back to the Locality Manager role as I was successful in securing the role of a Change Manager.

I was then part of the transformation team and worked as the lead for Cutover for the next big change. Cutover is essentially the period in which you switch the old systems off, bring over the new data/configuration/code and then stand the new system up. I was responsible for ensuring the business had a plan to get through this period and were briefed. In addition,  I was also responsible for the whole Cutover plan, ensuring the technical and data team were ready and prepared to stand up the new data, configuration and code. This was a real eye-opener in to how we technically ready our systems for change, the work it takes, and how people are integral to this. This role readied me for the next step change in my career, which was into the Transformation Business Change and Readiness Manager.

We’re all about our people and ultimately my role is to give people a voice...

What do you consider to be the most significant benefit of working for Bromford?

For me, I value knowing I am working for a company that has a purpose I can get behind. Knowing that I am working for a company that wants to build actual homes and communities and not just a property is a benefit for me.  Bromford wants to use technology and new ways of working to actual improve things for our customers. We’re interested in having top technology so we can be ready to grow with our customer need. Knowing that I am a part of that is a benefit to me.

That said, there is also a great offer to colleagues through YuLife.  Included within the Bromford deal is access to YuLife, which is our benefit and reward platform. YuLife offers a range of benefits from immediate access to a GP service, counselling sessions, and will writing. There honestly is so many benefits on there!
