Request an adaptation to your home

We call more complicated or extensive work a major adaptation.

It includes things like:

• a level-access shower
• a fully accessible kitchen
• equipment like stairlifts or bathing lifts
• access ramps
• extensions

You could get a grant from your council if you’re disabled and need to make changes to your home. This is called a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG).

A DFG will require an assessment of your needs, your home, and your income.

If you do not qualify for a Disabled Facilities Grant, we may consider a direct request for major adaptations when supported by your local authority.

We cannot provide Occupational Therapy assessments. If you need one, please contact your local authority. if this is required, please signpost the customer to their Local Authority for an Occupational Therapy assessment.

We may be able to arrange minor adaptations to your home.
