We're seeing an increase in calls about heating issues. Please check our advice on how to get your boiler working, before you get in touch with us.
We have two categories of adaptations, depending on what's involved. We call them Major and Minor.
There could also be equipment available that can help you in your home.
We call more complicated or extensive work a major adaptation.
It includes things like:
- a level-access shower
- a fully accessible kitchen
- equipment like stairlifts or bathing lifts
- access ramps
- extensions
A DFG will require an assessment of your needs, your home, and your income.
If you do not qualify for a Disabled Facilities Grant, we may consider a direct request for major adaptations when supported by your local authority.
We cannot provide Occupational Therapy assessments. If you need one, please contact your local authority. if this is required, please signpost the customer to their Local Authority for an Occupational Therapy assessment.
We may be able to arrange minor adaptations to your home.
If the change you need isn't in this list, please tell us what you need, and we will help if we can. If we can't, we'll guide you to get you in touch with organisations who can help.
