THISis the first glimpse of how a new £12m retirement living scheme in Banbury will look in all its glory.
Newly-released artist's impressions depict the striking entrance to the four-storey apartment block; with three wings situated off a central communal area and a number of balconies overlooking People’s Park in the centre of the town. Bromford’s Park Gardens, off Bath Road, will feature 78 high-quality retirement living homes exclusively for over 55s.
The computer generated images also show the approach to the scheme, car parking area and the range of building materials being used to ensure Park Gardens provides a modern retirement living community.
Construction work is underway at the multi-million pound scheme which is being built on land previously belonging to Banbury and Bicester College. The college, which is part of Activate Learning, made the land available after relocating its media and motor vehicle facilities to a new, £6m centre, on the opposite side of Broughton Road three years ago.
The range of one or two bedroom apartments will include options for rent or purchase. Along with a café bar, lounge, activity studio, gym and hair and beauty salon, Park Gardens will provide residents with a safe, secure and happy home. It is expected residents will move in early 2019 and as progress on the development moves forwards, the on-site facilities will create a number of job opportunities for local businesses.
Penny Downing, Bromford’s sales and marketing director, said: “We’re delighted to be able to unveil our vision for Park Gardens – a modern and stylish development which is completely befitting of the local area and which we hope will create a vibrant and lively place for residents and the wider community to enjoy.
“We’re lucky to secure such a brilliant site which, being so close to People’s Park and Banbury town centre, makes it an ideal place for anyone aged over 55 wanting to enjoy later life more. Our retirement living homes are increasingly popular as they offer customers the opportunity to live in a diverse community where they can really retain their independence; safe in the knowledge that support is available if they need it.”
