Customers in Staple Hill enjoyed an Easter surprise, after colleagues took to the streets in a specially decorated van, complete with adorable rabbit ears to hand out chocolate treats. It’s the latest event organised by the Staple Hill place-based team, once again showcasing our working this way allows us to improve community engagement.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the Bromford Easter Bunny, Dale Hughes, Customer Repairs Manager, who was accompanied by a couple of cheerful carrots (colleagues), Laura Rogers, Place Operations Planner and Andy Wilson, Place Multi-skilled Engineer. Equipped with white Easter baskets overflowing with chocolate eggs, the team hopped out to greet families along the streets of Staple Hill, South Gloucestershire, handing out treats to local children.
Place Team Leader, Angela Manson said: "It was fantastic to see the smiles on the children's faces. Being out in the community, connecting with our customers in such a fun and engaging way, is exactly what our place-based approach is all about. We hope we brought a little bit of Easter magic to Staple Hill."
Andy Wilson, Multi-skilled Engineer said: “It’s great for people to get involved in this sort of event, bringing colleagues and customers together – gives it a real community feel.”
Adding to the spring-time atmosphere, other members of the team joined in the fun, sporting their own bunny ears as they engaged with customers. This community-focused event is a direct result of our commitment to the place-based working model, which aims to foster stronger connections and deeper engagement within the specific communities they serve. By having dedicated teams working directly within areas like Staple Hill, we can better understand and respond to the needs and joys of their customers.
The event served as a wonderful example of how a community-focused approach can bring people together and spread positivity, reinforcing our commitment to being more than just a housing provider by building stronger relationships in the community
To further enhance this commitment to the Staple Hill community, we have also installed a new children's play area with a goal net and a convenient shed for bike storage. This supports the needs and wellbeing of our customers and creates a thriving environment for families in the area.
