Pupils at a Cheltenham primary school have marked Children’s Gardening Week by breaking in their new tools, courtesy of our donation.
Springbank Primary Academy, which is close to our Springbank View development, received essential gardening equipment including trowels, gloves, plant pots and watering cans, to help younger children embrace nature and gardening within the Forest School.
Forest School is a child-centred and child-led learning process that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions, promoting and supporting all children’s physical, emotional and spiritual learning.
This is the second such donation we've made to the school, after a gifting of vocational, topic-related books for Children’s Book Week in late 2023.
Yvonne Pirso, Head of Forest School at Springbank Primary Academy, said: “Our pupils love getting their hands dirty at our Forest School, and getting stuck in with their new tools. The children enjoy planting and we are all committed to improving the biodiversity at our Forest School.
“The generous donation of equipment from Bromford has helped pupils throughout our school to get planting and watering for the spring and summer seasons.
“The children are delighted to be putting their new tools to good use and we’d like to thank Bromford for providing this much-needed useful equipment.”
Catherine Jarrett, director of sales and marketing at Bromford, said: “Supporting our local communities is really important to us at Bromford, so to make this donation to Springbank Primary Academy is incredibly rewarding.
“Given the warmer weather and with summer incoming, it’s important to encourage children to enjoy the outdoors, and it would be great for our donation to help inspire a new hobby.”
