Bromford is celebrating a record year of housebuilding, after completing 1,265 new homes during 2022-23.

People have been moving into the new homes we've built across our operating area from Staffordshire to South Gloucestershire as we exceeded our target of 1,200 homes for the year. It’s an increase on the 1,224 homes Bromford built the previous year and cements our status as one of the country’s biggest housebuilding housing associations.

Around a fifth of the homes have been built by our in-house construction team, which during the year celebrated the completion of:

  • A 95-home site at Mount Road in Burntwood
  • 48 homes at Grange Park in Telford
  • 33 homes at Offenham Road in Evesham

Bromford has worked in partnership with developers on sites, such as at Deanslade in Lichfield where we have taken on 109 new homes from Taylor Wimpey and at Filton airfield in South Gloucestershire where we have worked with YTL Developments to provide 40 new homes.

Bromford’s chief investment officer Martyn Blackman said:

We're thrilled to have had our most successful year of housebuilding to date, providing hundreds of individuals with the opportunity to move into a secure, comfortable, and cost-effective home. Our team's remarkable efforts allowed us to complete all these homes, despite the challenging economic conditions, including the increasing cost of materials. Notably, we are proud to have included social rent homes among our offerings, ensuring that our homes are accessible to individuals with diverse financial backgrounds.
"It is evident that there is still a significant demand for more affordable housing, and as a result, our aim over the next few years is to increase our development programme to deliver 1,500 homes annually. We have been actively building a robust pipeline of homes by acquiring land, obtaining planning permission, and establishing new partnerships with developers and Homes England. These efforts will enable us to boost the supply of new homes, providing even more people with the opportunity to prosper in a Bromford home."
